LHS Theatre Banquet: We will be hosting the (now) annual Theatre Banquet on Tuesday, May 21st @ 6 pm.
Attire should be Dressy Casual (no jeans, tshirts, or shorts) - it's a semi-formal celebration! RSVPs will be distrubited later.
Banquet Highlights include:
-Drama Club Officers presenting the opening ceremony of our International Thespian Society
-formal acknowledge of those students who chose to become ITS Members this year
-celebration (slideshow & clips) of this year's productions & other successes
-awards (Theatre KEY award & 9 categories voted on by students - more info to follow)
-announcement of next year's season
-announcement of next year's Drama Club Officers (more info to follow)
May 15th: On Wednesday, May 15th, students involved in any shows or drama club are invited to join us for our last Drama Club meeting. It will begin at 3 pm in the CPA and will have several important tasks:
-Nominate Drama Club Officers for 2013-2014
-Speeches from nominated students
-Voting for Drama Club Officers
-Voting for Banquet Awards. Nine Awards include: Outstanding Actor & Actress in a Lead Role, Outstanding Actor & Actress in a Supporting Role, Outstanding Lead Technician, Outstanding Crew Technician, Most Promising Female & Male (Freshmen - Juniors), and Outstanding Spirit Award)
-Students must be present to participate (nominate, run for office, or vote)
Play Production Class: Thanks to the success and popularity of our Drama 2 class this year, I am currently working with Administration to offer a Play Production class during the day. This Play Production class will (for now) take the place of Drama 2. If a students signed up for Drama 2 next year, they will be moved to Play Pro automatically. I'll include my proposed course listing at the end of this email, but it will qualify for .5 of the Visual Performing Applied Arts Credits and does require some after school participation. The class will work on advanced theatre techniques as well as the different positions required for a full production. The students in the class will be assigned all positions needed and will execute a play for public performances. I want to make you aware of this potential opportunity for students, but it has not been officially passed by the Board Office. I will contact everyone with further information when this has cleared.
